Congratulations to Adrian McKinty on winning the prestigious Edgar Award for 2017 in the Best Paperback Original category.
The winner is selected by the Mystery Writers of America and should give McKinty’s creation, Sean Duffy, the kind of recognition that would have him reaching for the Lagavulin or Ardbeg.
The book that earned the award was Rain Dogs and it will be a huge boost for the sales of his latest book Police at the Station and They Don’t Look Friendly, published here in 2016 but in the US only last month.
Former winners of the Edgar include James Lee Burke, Ruth Rendell, P D James and Dick Francis. Elite company indeed.
Police at the Station will be reviewed in the May edition of Tinteán – published on Saturday 6th May.
Well deserved award for brilliant writing. He had my award years ago.
