That Sean Duffy, McKinty’s main character, is a Catholic means that his Northern Irish police superiors are unsure of him and that he is as much an outsider on the Gerry Adams side of his society as on the Ian Paisley side.
On 17 December 2014, Adrian McKinty, a master of Belfast crime fiction now living in Melbourne, was interviewed by Felicity Allen, one of the Tinteán editors, about his Sean Duffy trilogy. By popular demand, the trilogy is soon to be extended to a fourth novel.
