Nature of Event: Little Gem by Elaine Murphy
It’s about three generations of women from one Irish family taking turns at telling their individual and collective stories by way of entwined monologues. These woman are real, flawed, vulnerable but lovable characters with multi dimensionality, complexity and humanity. The play builds a touching portrait of their unremarkable but fully-lived lives. Unfolding over the course of a year, Little Gem is told with enormous humour and compassion and takes us deeply into the hearts, souls and insights of the family.
This will be the Australian Amateur Première for this play.
