In June this year we reported on the special celebration in the Gaelic Club, Sydney of Finding our Heart, the story book by Thomas Mayor in response to the Uluru Statement and illustrated by Blak Douglas. We are now delighted to be able to provide here the newly released video compilation of the night. Around the seven minute mark you will hear the Irish language version read by Tomás de Bhaldraithe and Maelíosa Stafford in response to Mayor’s reading. Aunty Carol Cooper gives a welcome to Gadigal Country at the beginning, Jacinta Tobin sings in language, and the compilation ends with commentaries from some members of the audience. Altogether an inspiring and uplifting tribute the Uluru Statement and acknowledgment of the importance of indigenous languages.
