A Terrible Beauty: Poetry of the Easter Rising will be a poetry reading

with musical accompaniment. It features poems by the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising, as well as poems about them by their friends, with dramatic biographical accounts interwoven through the readings. Directed and MC’d by Liam Gillespie, with cast including: Renee Huish, Anna-Rose Shack, Steve Gome, Aaron Bhat, Atira Shack, and Jack Callahan. With only one performance, on
Friday, 15 April at 7.30pm at the Celtic Club, 316-320 Queen St, Melbourne, you’re encouraged to book quickly. The event will have musical accompaniment by Quinlan Hames (a harpist), and vocalists, Aaron Bhat, Jack Callahan, and Atira Shack, and assisted by the cast. They will sing songs of the Rising dating from the period.
