Commemorative Events of the 1916 Easter Rising at the Celtic Club

 

c235cbc9-ff33-499b-85bd-342f11cf42cb2016 is the centenary of Ireland’s Easter Rising and the proclamation of the Irish Republic at the Dublin GPO on 24 April 1916. The Melbourne Celtic Club’s Cultural Heritage Committee is holding a series of commemorative events (which includes a competition to write a Proclamation for an Australian Republic.)

Event: 1916 Commemorative Dinner with guest speaker Richard O’Brien the former Irish Ambassador to Australia. The presentation and reading of the winning Proclamation for an Australian Republic will also take place.
