St Patrick’s Race Day at Geelong Race Track.

16 March 2022

This was great fun last year even though the weather was extremely hot and windy. Every person who attends and mentions The Geelong Irish Society, will get free entry and the GIS will get $20.  Last year they had two marquees, being the base area, where people could leave their picnic stuff or sit in the shade.  If you definitely think you will attend they can send you tickets in advance.  Please let them know, geelongirish@gmail.com .

St Patrick’s Day 2024 at Edinburgh Gardens

Sunday 17 March

As it is a family event it might clash with people wanting to have lunch at our new venue (if it is open) with their family. However, there will be many thousands at Edinburgh Gardens and it will be an opportunity to promote our new venue to a wide audience that many may not be aware of. And hopefully, attract some business in the evening at our CC venue.

Peter raised this matter with the CoM and recommended that the club have a stall at Edinburgh Park. Sponsorship was raised but Peter had no information. It is expected that there will be charges for the professionally erected shelters next year.

There is no conflict with a St Patrick’s Day event which will occur in St Kilda.

The CEO agrees that the club should be involved.
