Nature of Event: The annual luncheon (now in its fifteenth year) celebrating Irish and Irish-Australian women and the Spirit of Brigid 
will in 2020 feature Magistrate Fiona Hayes speaking about her work with women who face court in Victoria, and she will canvass how courts express their concern for human rights, and how they offer women in the justice system hope in the face of life and family challenges. Irish-born (Co Tipperary), she has worked as a solicitor-advocate in criminal law, anti-discrimination law, and for people with disabilities, and with Legal Aid. She is also familiar with current laws in Ireland. Parties are particularly welcome, and it’s not exclusively for women, of course.
